The Death of the Gay FireFox Browser

August 8, 2014 (AcuteMania.net) – Back in March of this year, FireFox appointed Brendan Eich as the new CEO and head of its company. For those who do not know, Brendan Eich is the founder of FireFox and the creator of the now universal web programming language JavaScript.

Eich had been working as the CTO before his promotion. After just two weeks as CEO, Eich was forced to resign because he had contributed $1000 to support the bill to maintain heterosexual marriage, Proposition 8, in California. Homosexual advocates had proudly taken down their most prominent victim.

It was like watching the horrifying beginning of a new, totalitarian future; even liberal, gay “marriage” supporters were aghast. The liberal television host, Bill Maher, took to his show and proclaimed that there was a “gay mafia” that “whacked” its opponents. The liberal gay activist, Andrew Sullivan, expressed strong indignation: “The whole episode disgusts me – as it should disgust anyone interested in a tolerant and diverse society.”

In the end, Eich resigned his post and left FireFox. All of his remarks about inclusiveness could not ameliorate the gay hordes who only sought another scalp. Many FireFox employees demanded his departure. The FireFox board, who appointed him, did nothing to support him, despite knowing beforehand that he had supported Proposition 8. And so closed the final chapter in the history of FireFox; the man who started it all will likely end it all as well.

FireFox had been losing market share for some time before Eich’s appointment. He was, no doubt, the company’s only hope for the future. A look at the chart above tells the story; FireFox’s share has declined from about 18% to 15% of the browser market from January to July of this year. While that may not seem significant, it is when you realize that 90% of the revenue at FireFox comes from the Google Toolbar that they embed at the top of their browser.

In the end, Brendan Eich will have the last laugh as the gay employees who he hired–those who turned around and backstabbed him–will soon be receiving their layoff notices.
