Democrat Senator Al Franken “Glad” About Homosexual Killing
It is a tolerant remark from Minnesota’s liberal democrat Senator: Al Franken. The statements in the image above came from an interview in The Harvard Crimson which is posted here. His full statement reads as follows
It’s not preppies, cause I’m a preppie myself. I just don’t like homosexuals. If you ask me, they’re all homosexuals in the Pudding. Hey, I was glad when that Pudding homosexual got killed in Philadelphia.

|If you read the comment in context of the Crimson interview, his comment was not meant to be literal or reflecting of his opinions — it was said as a barb against the people at the Pudding who refused a Franken piece in their show. It was clearly meant tongue in cheek. He even goes on to say, “Put that in, put that in,” FRANKEN LAUGHED, leaning over the desk. “I’d love to see that in The Crimson.” (emphasis in upper case added)
It was a joke. I’d say it wasn’t funny, at least by today’s standards (the interview is from 1976), but it was clearly a joke — not a serious comment.
